Attendance: Prompt and regular attendance is expected.
Classroom standards:
- All electronic communication devices—including pagers and cell phones —should be turned off or switched to silent ring. PDA's (Personal Digital Assistants) and laptops may be used, provided their use does not interfere with class activities and is not distracting to others.
- Students are expected to be tolerant of other points of view and courteous in their interactions with fellow students and the instructor.
- Please review and reflect on Part One of the Student Code, especially the articles on student dicscipline, academic integrity and attendance. Please note that by turning in materials for review in LIS491, you certify that all work presented is your own and has been done by you independently.
Reading: Assigned readings should be completed before the class meeting during which we will discuss them.
Assignments:
- Completion of all assignments is required.
- Grades will be discusses only in person not by email. To discuss a grade please make an appointment
- Plagiarism in any form is a violation of academic integrity and constitutes grounds for failure of the course. Offenses such fabrication, cheating, and other academic irregularities covered by the University's "Code of Policies and Regulations" section 33.I are equally serious. In all such cases, the instructor reserves the right to recommend suspension or dismissal from the University (as provided for in section 33.II.C) should the instructor deem that the circumstances of the situation warrant such a penalty.
