Learning technology -- a tool or medium that helps learners construct new knowledge. It usually refers to a new information or communication technology such as visualization software, virtual reality, electronic bulletin board, simulation, tutorial, or interactive game. The term "learning technology" is multipy ambiguous. It can mean the tool that helps one learn, but also has been used to mean a technology that itself learns. For example, genetic algorithms in effect learn how to perform more effectively in some environment based on feedback about their success. Other meanings are "learning how to use technology" or "learning about technology."
