LIS391 Timeline entry by Christopher Anderson
Great Moments in
Cinemetography
1903 - The Great Train
Robbery, the first motion picture with a plot, makes its debut. A silent
film that ran for 12 minutes, it was America's first blockbuster film. It
featured Frank Hanaway, the first person specifically hired to be a stunt man in
a movie. Also appearing in the film were Gilbert M. "Bronco Billy" Anderson, who
is credited as the father of the movie cowboy, and Tom London, who appeared in
hundreds of western movies (often as a trick rider), as well as the critically
acclaimed All Quiet on the Western Front.
2027 - Macaulay Culkin is featured as the narrator of a documentary
reviewing the history of child acting. Also featured is Haley Joel Osment,
Jonathan Lipnicki, Sean Astin, Elijah Wood, Jodie Foster and Drew Barrymore,
among other notable child actors. The documentary begins as a highly
introspective piece but breaks down immediately at the mention of Gary Coleman
and is drastically shortened from original production plans due to lack of
"usable" content. The uncut version will be available for intoxicated late night
broadcast purchase in early 2028.

Database at http://www.imdb.com/ for
information on pretty much any movie you can think of (thankfully, your
embarassing party videos probably haven't made it on there).
